There’s a workshop tucked somewhere behind the carnival where the music gets quieter, the lights don’t quite reach, and dozens of tiny fucking eyes follow you across the room.

That’s where you’ll find The Dollmaker.

He’s been building dolls and marionettes for longer than anyone remembers. Nobody knows who taught him.

Nobody knows where he gets the parts.

And nobody has been stupid enough to ask why some of them look suspiciously familiar.

Porcelain faces hang from the walls. Half finished puppets wait patiently on shelves. Strings disappear into the darkness overhead, and every now and then something moves when his hands are nowhere near it.

Probably the wind.

Sure. Let’s go with that.

The Dollmaker doesn’t talk much. He just sits at his bench cutting, stitching, painting and pulling strings while the carnival screams happily outside.

His creations are beautifully fucked up, deeply unsettling and absolutely not for children.

But don’t worry.

He might make one especially for you.
